Zhang Ping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a member of the Advisory Committee of the IMT-2030(6G) Promotion Group, and a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, recently talked about the vision of 6G when interviewed by reporters.

Zhang Ping said.

Zhang Ping predicts that 6G will be utilized for the specific application scenarios, like any change society, precision medicine, sea-air-space communications, digital twins and so on. On the basis of the interconnection of humans, machines and things, if there is an increase in the future, it may be added to the space of wisdom or consciousness to form a "wisdom connection of all things.
According to Zhang Ping, the scientific community has been exploring the digitization of consciousness, brain science, brain-computer communication, etc., exploring the communication between the human brain and the machine, and some results have been achieved. The previously neglected communication between the transmitting end and the receiving end will become the main problem of future communication. If this problem can be solved, the problem of human consciousness or wisdom participating in communication will also be solved.
"Digital Twins" is one vision of the 6G. Zhang Ping said that through digital twins, a "dual world architecture" will be built, which should be a real physical world, and a virtual world as an extension of the real world, corresponding to the needs of the real world, and accomplishing the mapping of the real world in the virtual world.
Zhang Ping comes up with the concept of "spirit", which refers to the digital twin of the human body, that is the digital abstraction and expression of various differentiated characteristics of human beings in the virtual world, and the establishment of an all-round three-dimensional simulation of each user. In addition, spirit also includes human intelligent assistants, holographic services, and all-sensory services. The perception, coding, transmission and evaluation of subjective information will become key factors for achieving high-quality services.
"The vision should be imagined a bit farther, and the technology must return to reality." Zhang Ping supposes that computing power may be a relatively large factor that needs to be considered in the future. The computing power in the 6G era is at least 100 times that of the original, Bandwidth and more technical indicators can reach 10-100 times improvement, and high-precision positioning should achieve higher accuracy.
Regarding hardware technologies, Zhang Ping thinks that 6G technologies should include wireless cellular large-scale antennas, terahertz, dynamic spectrum sharing, integration of communication and perception, and intelligent super-surface technology, etc…
"To realize the 6G vision, it will take more than ten years, at least after 2030." Zhang Ping said that communication technology has been evolving from generation to generation. Even 5G technology has not reached perfection and is still keeping evolution.
